Suk san wan Songkran!

Happy Songkran Day from the beautiful country of Thailand. April is the hottest month of the year and what better way to celebrate than with a water fight!
Thailand has wonderful holidays to enjoy! Since April is the time of Planting, Renewal and shedding of the Winter blahs, I thought the Songkran — or Water Festival — was very fitting for this month. Songkran marks Thai New Year and is most likely the largest water fight in the world. For 3 days the water guns are loaded and ready for fun. With April being the hottest month of the year in Thailand, I suppose this is the best time to have a water fight.
Songkran is about cleansing, purification and fresh starts. “Houses are cleaned, Buddha statues are gently washed with scented water, and elders are honored by pouring water respectfully over their hands.”
Although religious in background, Songkran is also about fun – “the water signifies the washing away of bad thoughts and actions, and brings them good luck in the new year.” Street dance parties will also commence.

So want to do something fun with the kiddos (big or small)? Celebrate Songkran in your own backyard!
Enjoy,

With the thought of renewal and purification, I was thinking it’s time to do a spring detox. My favorite! (Can you hear the sarcasm in my voice?) The other morning I couldn’t sleep and caught some fundraising show on public television. Dr. Hyman was speaking on his 10 Day Detox Program. It sounded interesting and something that I totally needed to do.
So I consulted with the “Queen Bee” – Alison Lively with Creative Living Wellness. I got the “Heck yeah he is awesome” signal so thought I would try it out. Anyone else want to try it with me?

Sunday Appointments, and Possible Schedule Changes
Due to circumstances out of my control, I was not able to go to NYC for the tradeshow in March. Hopefully a trip to another show in the fall will come together.
I will be out of the office from Friday, April 10 until Monday, April 14 for Shoopy’s Birthday Weekend. Thank you to everyone that has asked about my Grandpa. He is old school and really tough. He is doing well. My uncles (Shoopy’s brothers) are all in treatment as well. My Uncle Lee has some kind of cancer in his neck and is having Chemo. Since My Uncle Garnet is not real social and doesn’t talk much, not sure what is going on with him, but the Shoop boys are hanging out in various treatment rooms together. Lord help the nurses with that crew.
My Sunday appointments the next few months are April 6th and 27th, May 4th and 18th, and June 1st and 22nd.
