I hope everyone had a fabulous Turkey Day! I didn’t want to inundate you with yet another email but I am truly grateful and appreciate each and every one of you. Because of you, I feel very blessed to have a career and people that I love.
January will mark the beginning of my 18th year in business! Some of you have been with me since the beginning or very close to it. I look forward to what next year has to offer and remember I am here to help you look and feel fabulous on the outside and the inside.

I can hardly believe this year is almost over. Christmas will be here in less than 3 weeks! I know I say every year that older people are right, life does go by so quickly. The Salvadoran is always reminding me to be happy every day and not let the things that don’t go the way I had hoped to hold me down.
Smile and be happy every day because before you know it this life is gone and the things that you thought were so important were really just small things. Remember that all times, good and bad, have a purpose even if it’s hard to tell what that is in the moment.
The holidays can be a stressful time for a lot of people and bring up all sorts of emotions, some good and some not so good. For some people family is all around and for others, it can be a time of loneliness. I know for me it is a time of happiness and sadness.
My door is always open to anyone that needs to walk through it. My goal is to have a drop-in-ready house starting Thanksgiving until New Years (after that it is a crapshoot – LOL). There is always an extra plate and plenty of food. You never know what you might get for dinner but it will be good. So if you find yourself needing some company please come over for dinner, we will leave a light on for you!
I wish you all a calm, joyous and adventurous holiday season filled with lots of color, good cheer, and merriment. See you in 2020!
In love and adventure,
Nicole
PS. I know this time of year everyone is super busy and has a lot going on. Everyone receives several emails – an appointment confirmation one week before your appointment and then another two days before. For those that also get text messages, those come two days before your appointment. If you are not receiving the emails please check your spam folder. If you would like to start receiving text messages please let me know and I will add that to your information. Please be sure to check your messages to make sure we are both on the same page with your appointment! Sometimes we get things in our head that aren’t exactly right.
Please don’t make me have to be mean and charge you for a missed appointment. I have a waiting list for people in December and would love to try to help as many people as possible look fabulous this holiday season.
The True Story of St. Nick

The true story of Santa Claus begins with Nicholas, who was born during the third century in the village of Patara. At the time the area was Greek and is now on the southern coast of Turkey.
His wealthy parents, who raised him to be a devout Christian, died in an epidemic while Nicholas was still young. Obeying Jesus’ words to “sell what you own and give the money to the poor,” Nicholas used his whole inheritance to assist the needy, the sick, and the suffering. He dedicated his life to serving God and was made Bishop of Myra while still a young man.
Bishop Nicholas became known throughout the land for his generosity to those in need, his love for children, and his concern for sailors and ships.
Under the Roman Emperor Diocletian, who ruthlessly persecuted Christians, Bishop Nicholas suffered for his faith, was exiled and imprisoned. The prisons were so full of bishops, priests, and deacons, there was no room for the real criminals-murderers, thieves and robbers. After his release, Nicholas attended the Council of Nicaea in AD 325. He died December 6, AD 343 in Myra and was buried in his cathedral church, where a unique relic, called manna, formed in his grave. This liquid substance, said to have healing powers, fostered the growth of devotion to Nicholas. The anniversary of his death became a day of celebration, St. Nicholas Day.
When I lived in Germany as a kid, we would celebrate St. Nicholas Day by putting a shoe outside of our bedroom door so St. Nicholas could leave us something small – or switches and coal if we were bad!

Our version of today’s Santa Claus in the US as a big, jolly old man in a red suit was started by Coca-Cola although there were versions of a jolly old elf starting in the early 1800’s. The jolly elf image received a big boost in 1823, from a poem destined to become immensely popular, “A Visit from St. Nicholas,” now better known as “The Night Before Christmas”.
