Marianne Frederick – How to Have Energy Left at the End of the Day
As women we tend to expend energy for everyone and everything else BUT ourselves! This session is an energizing an entertaining program to remind you to “Enjoy Life” and includes quick and fun tips to reenergize during the course of your busy days.
Marianne Frederick is the Facilitator of Fun and Learning. She can bring her spirited brand of positive play to any organization! Her energetic and accessible speaking style engages participants to learn how humor, laughter and play can help them stay healthy, happy and creative!
I have known Marianne for around 10 years I guess. We reconnected thanks to Salsa at The Phoenix Inn (on Fridays with my friend Malik). I was so excited to see her. I knew she would be an awesome fit for our ladies day. I promise she will make you laugh and have fun.
Heather Marshall – Legacy Stories: Capturing the spirit of Your Life.
Whether you are a new parent, hoping to gather and retain special moments as your children grow or a grandparent hoping to pass along family history, learning how to write Legacy Stories offers you the skills to craft engaging creative nonfiction–stories that capture the essence of what you are all about. I am looking at somehow using this to capture the lives on my Grandparents by asking them questions and writing out their answers. And also as a way to learn more about myself and my own “legacy” for myself, Who am I? I want to also use this as a way to tell my Raspberry Moon story better. I always learn something amazing from Heather. I picked this topic because I felt that it could be used in so many ways and for me personally with my Grandparents being older and in not so great of health I try to get as many stories as I can from them. I am hoping this will help me to create a beautiful story book for my family and my niece and nephew who will only have a little time with them.
Heather Marshall is an author and teacher whose classes, workshops and coaching focus primarily on helping people access their own stories. She has taught in classrooms across South Carolina and has presented workshops across the country. Heather’s fiction and creative nonfiction are published in literary journals and anthologies in the US and the UK and have been read on the radio in both countries. Her novel, The Thorn Tree (MP Publishing), released in June, 2014. For more information, please visit heathergmarshall.wordpress.com.
My newest friend Heather I met through Greenville Yoga (you know how I love that place!) Heather has done several writing classes for various events for me and she is just amazing. I am not a great writer. It takes me forever to get things on paper but she breaks it down in such an easy way and it makes me step back and say “Omigosh I just wrote that!”
Virginia Kirwan – Herbal Teas for Spring Relief and Summer Health
The focus of our tea will be to highlight herbal blends that fully bring us into the spring season and get us ready for summer in optimal health. Spring is beautiful but also brings in the allergy season so we will be preparing and sampling blends that help fight off those watery eyes, sniffly noses and exhaustion from the pollen. Virginia will show you teas to help with stress, aging and to cool down with in the coming summer, teas for pleasant relaxing moments and serious teas with important medicinal properties. She will be explaining how volatile oils in herbs work to build up your immune system and why tea herbal tea may be better than culinary use of herbs.
My friend Virginia I have known since 2007 I think also from Salsa. I just love her. She has helped me through some hard times. She is on a new adventure in health and wellness and her herbal teas are just part of it!

Let’s Build a Happy Home in Haiti
Normally I donate the money from these events to a local charity, this time I REALLY want to build a family a Happy Home in Haiti – I have had this flyer on my board for years. The cost to build a Happy House is $1,250. I think this is just an amazing program. I have donated to them before – I have sent kids to school as a gift to my Mom for Mother’s Day. She is a teacher and loves the idea of sending a child to school who otherwise couldn’t afford to go.
They have a 4 star rating with Charity Navigator and have been a former sponsored charity through Dining for Women (started locally by our very own Marsha Wallace!). I will be collecting donations at the shop and if you would like to make an extra contribution the day of the event that would be awesome. Raspberry Moon will be donating $250 in addition to the money raised from the event.
HHF is proud of an overhead of less than 9 cents per donated dollar, with over 91 percent of funds collected going directly to services for the poor.
